Assembly

For products that require assembly we are able to carry out this operation in our assembly facility.  Examples of which can be seen in our case studies section.

Sub Assembly

We have a fully equipped assembly unit were a number of operations can be carried out after the moulding process.  These include:

  • Close tolerance machining
  • Threaded Holes
  • Full assembly of the product, which may include non moulded components.
  • Plating and Finishing
Secondary Operations

Plating and Finishing

Plating can be successfully performed on many plastics, including ABS, polypropylene, polysulfone,  polycarbonate, polyester, and nylon, to provide a decorative finish or a hard surface for wear and corrosion resistance.

Pick and Pack Service

We are able to offer a full pick and pack service, all you need to do is send us the order and we will do the rest.

Ultrasonic Welding

“Ultrasonic Welding is a process where two pieces of plastic are joined together using high frequency acoustic vibrations.  One half of the component is placed on a fixed anvil and the second is placed on top. An extension, connected to the transducer on the welding machine, called a “horn” is then lowered down on top of the two components.  Once the horn is in place a very rapid low-amplitude acoustic vibration is applied to the moulding in a small welding zone.  This vibration causes the acoustic energy to be converted into heat energy and the two components are welded together.”

If a component has been designed to be ultrasonically welded it will have very small amounts of extra material on the join line on one half, with a slight recess in the second half.  Because of this when the parts are welded together there is sufficient material for the parts to fuse together with a strong joint.  This process also means that no additional adhesives or connective parts are needed to create the joint.

Ultrasonic welding is an ideal way to assemble high or low volume parts to make one component.
